During an interview onThe Andy Cohen Show SiriusXM“, host Andy Cohen suggested that Winfrey may be the only “enemy or foe” Stern has yet to reconcile with. However, the veteran radio host was quick to shut that down.

He immediately replied: “No, I love Oprah,” surprising Cohen, who replied: “You love her?” Stern went on to explain that he was one of Winfrey’s followers, and had been monitoring her.

Cohen then asked if he had ever spoken to her, and the radio host replied that he had not. But he indicated that he knew her best friend, Gayle King.

“I think at some point she suggested, ‘Oh, we should get together with Oprah,'” Stern recalls. “I said, ‘You better check with Oprah. You better not surprise her with me.’

After clarifying his feelings about Winfrey, Stern addressed the controversial comment he made in 2022.

He continued: “I couldn’t do it. I’m not saying she’s wrong.” Stern then pointed out that the gap between rich and poor was widening, making the display of affluence more apparent.

“I find it funny,” he admitted. “And I’m not going to sit there and tell you I don’t think it’s funny. I’m going to say, ‘Wow, Oprah is unapologetically rich, so good for her.’

However, he reiterated: “But I don’t hate Oprah at all. I think she’s great.”

“I mean, come on. You should be a little more aware of this,” he chided.
