Prime Minister Justin Trudeau went from Canada to threaten immediate retaliation and emotional discourse at the late night, which produced a waiver of Cliffhanger.

President Claudia Shinbom chose Mexico the islands on sticks, and background conversations that led to an early deal.

In the end, when everything was said and did on Monday, hours before the start of a trade war in North America, both leaders of President Trump negotiated his threat to impose a tariff on commercial partners in the United States.

They were both to provide relatively little in return.

It was followed by the various methods of Mr. Trudeau and Mrs. Xinbom, the same result-a 30-day delay in American definitions in exchange for tightening their borders to stop the flow of drugs and unauthorized migrants to the United States-a story of two different leadership patterns, and two countries have different relations with the United States.

Mr. Trudeau has been preparing for the land – and revenge – since November. Three days after Mr. Trump issued for the first time his introductory threat on November 25, the Canadian Prime Minister arrived on a plane in Mar Lago to talk to him about avoiding what may reach a brotherly commercial war that strongly hurt Canadian economy.

By all standards, this first meeting identified the scene of Canadian foundation to address what Mr. Trump said directly: the safest northern border, with fewer unauthorized migrant crossings, and a more strict fist on fentianil flowing across the border.

The parallel story highlights how Mexico’s leader delayed the tariff on her country, with a few hours on Canada, highlighting Ms. Xinbom company and driving style, and her willingness to focus on a partnership in her talks with Mr. Trump.

Even before voting in office in June, Mrs. Shinbom and her team were preparing to return to the White House. Since his victory in November, Mrs. Shinbom has repeated that she was not interested despite his threats to collective deportation and definitions. The day after the US elections, it promised to “establish communication and good relations.”

In Canada, the weeks that have passed since the meeting at Mar-A-Lago between Mr. Trudeau and Mr. Trump were crowded with developments that usually take months, or even years, to reveal. For beginners, Mr. Trudeau, who has become unpopular at home, announced that he would resign. On March 9, his party, the liberals, will choose a new leader and this person will become the next Prime Minister in Canada, at least until federal elections are called later this year.

Many of his senior ministers said that they would not run to replace it in order to focus on facing the tariff that is looming on the horizon. The Foreign Minister, Mélanie Joly, and the Minister of Finance, Dominic Lieblank, hipped both Trudeau’s allies and potential caliphs, instead in pressure on the main Republicans.

Mr. Leblanc “Promis” with Howard Lootnick developed the choice of Mr. Trump to be the Minister of Commerce. Mrs. Jolie visited the United States five times, pressed the major Republicans and spoke to Caesar Mr. Trump, Thomas Human.

I told them that Canada would take the initiative to protect the borders so that the United States does not need to use a lot of resources.

“I said, we know that the southern borders are your preoccupation, so we will put the resources on the northern border,” Ms. Jolie said in an interview about her message to the Republicans I met. “This way you can get your resources on the southern border.”

But Mr. Trudeau also made it clear that he would carry out revenge definitions against the United States if Mr. Trump decides to move forward with his threat. Government officials said that the outgoing Canadian leader believes that it is necessary to defend Canada in a more aggressive way, while simultaneously fulfilling the demands of Mr. Trump.

Canada published in December, and the budget has set a multi -year plan worth $ 900 million to enhance border protection. This immediately included the deployment of a Black Hawk helicopter, 60 drones from the United States and the additional border guards.

On Saturday, after the White House announced that Mr. Trump would move forward in the definitions, Mr. Trudeau addressed not only the Canadians, but also made it clear that he was talking directly to the Americans, in a late emotional speech at night.

“We do not want to be here,” said Mr. Trudeau. “We did not ask for this.”

However, when he detailed his revenge tariff plan, he added: “We will stand strong with Canada.”

In the end, he came to the wire. Mr. Trudo and Mr. Trump failed to reach a compromise in a call on Monday morning. This led to anxiety for a few hours, but, a second appeal in the afternoon in the afternoon that led to a deal, with Mr. Trump’s approval to restore the customs tariff for a month.

The foundations of the final deal that were announced on Monday afternoon were in effect for weeks, but Canada also pledged to do more on the Fintanel front, where “Vintagen Cheptilian” was appointed and new resources to combat organized and hurried crime.

In Mexico, Mrs. Xinbom’s predecessor and his teacher, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, suspended a close business relationship with Mr. Trump in the early years of his administration, despite similar circumstances: Mr. Trump’s threats to impose a tariff on Mexico and made it a cannon for the country in exchange for a border wall. In an attempt to avoid drawings, Mr. Lopez Obrador agreed to enhance the enforcement of immigration, including the deployment of the National Guard.

Conditions, though, It has changed since then. Mexico wandered in China as the largest commercial partner in goods with the United States. Mexico appeared like The top of the market Throughout the world, food exports and agriculture in the United States, as these imports rose to more than $ 29 billion.

But there is a major difference between Mr. LUPez Obrador and Mrs. Sheinbau: While sometimes he adopted the tone of confrontation towards the United States, it maintains more measured and wonderful behavior.

Unlike Canada, which was clear about its plans to avenge its customs tariffs on American goods and with its border plans to address the demands of Mr. Trump, Mrs. Shinbom and her team were more narrow.

After Mr. Trump ordered the definitions on Saturday, Mrs. Shinbom was still hitting her time, and promised to reveal her response “B” at a later time – but she first requested that Mr. Trump respond to her request to form a working group of security and health officials from both countries.

Later on Saturday, Mr. Trudeau and Mrs. Shinbaum got the phone to exchange notes. A Canadian official said that they had updated each other on their strategies, and they admitted that they were a little different curricula, but they have the exact same goals.

On Monday morning, Mrs. Shinbom and Mr. Trump spoke on the phone, a call that resulted in a faster result than Mr. Trump with Mr. Trudeau. Soon after, Mrs. Shinbom published X that a compromise had been reached.

In the risk of journalists at a later time, Ms. Xinbom said the discussion was “very respectful.” Mr. Trump described the invitation as “very friendly”.

She also, she got a 30 -day re -postponement for Mexico in exchange for border and fentian measures, which were mostly, as in Canada, part of the current plans.

“We have this month to work, to persuade each other that this is the best way to move forward.” It indicates that she might be able to adhere to the sanctions completely, she said she told her American counterpart: “We will provide results. Good results for your people, and good results for the Mexican people.”

As for Mr. Trudeau, when the Revrive team deviates for 30 days, it will be in the last week in his position.
