It seems that the Israelis and the Palestinians hope that the peace agreement proposed by US President Trump earlier this week could lead to a ceasefire.
The American leader said he believed that Hamas was “ready for permanent peace” and urged Israel to “stop the bombing of Gaza”, but in the early hours of the day, three air strikes hit the Gaza Strip.
Hamas said that it would issue all the remaining Israeli hostages in Gaza, but have requested more negotiations on a number of issues described in the plan.
It also failed to address its main aspects – including the demands of disarmament and withdrawing them in the Gaza governance.
