Hinge’s new AI tool wants to help you avoid creating a bad dating profile

If you’ve ever stared at your Hinge profile, unsure of what quick and charming answer would attract your most compatible matches, then this new Hinge feature is for you.

The dating app announced Wednesday that it is introducing a new quick feedback tool that uses artificial intelligence to help you improve and boost your profile. It is now available to English speaking users.

The new AI feature prompts you to write more detailed answers and avoid common or boring responses. It gives you different levels of guidance depending on your answer, suggesting small adjustments or larger changes. The AI ​​does not completely rewrite your answers. Instead, it can suggest changes, give you ideas for other details to include or guide you away from hackneyed responses.

The goal is for the AI ​​tool to inspire you to dig deeper and spark more interesting conversations with your matches.

Although you don’t have to do anything with the feedback Hinge gives you, you also won’t be able to turn the feature off. Hinge confirmed that the feature is powered by OpenAI ChatGPT 4o Mini model.

“The feature is geared toward evaluating a person’s profile answers to help ensure their answers are personal, specific, and real,” a Hinge spokesperson said. The company uses its own research and data as part of the instructions it provides to the AI ​​model.
