The wireless charging specification was Qi2 It was originally announced in early 2023. However, Android phone makers haven’t been quick to add Qi2 support to their latest devices since then. This makes finding a compatible phone somewhat difficult, which is annoying for anyone who has seen the wealth of accessories and power banks that iPhone owners have owned for generations.

On top of faster charging speeds (up to 15W or higher in later revisions), Qi2 forces the inclusion of built-in magnets designed to make aligning and attaching peripherals a breeze.

But what makes the slow rollout even more frustrating is that so is Apple Member of the Wireless Power Association (the governing body responsible for the Qi2) and its MagSafe technology has been used to help define specifications and ensure that compatible add-ons work seamlessly with the Qi2, so it’s not as if there’s a shortage of compatible peripherals.

Regardless, to help you figure out which Android phones officially come with Qi2, we’ve compiled a list of supported devices. (Note: Due to the complexities of the Chinese market, this list mainly focuses on tools available in North America and the EU.)

That’s it, seriously. At least for now.

However, things are looking up for 2025, where Samsung has already committed to making Many “Qi2-enabled Android devices” this year. And with his arrival Unpacked event Scheduled for next weekThings could change very soon.

It appears that Google has also pledged to throw its hat in the ring. However, things are a bit less clear as the company says it will play a “leading role in the development of the upcoming Qi v2.2 standard, which includes Google contributing its own high-power wireless charging technology to WPC.”

Looking forward, with Mobile World Congress 2025 Starting March 3, we expect to see updates from more major manufacturers.

As new Qi2-equipped phones hit the market, we’ll try to keep this list as up-to-date as possible. Or at least until the specification becomes a more widespread standard.
