The Chelsea playmaker will be absent within two to three weeks due to a thigh injury.
Enzo Maresca, President of Blues, confirmed the news at his press conference this morning, before tomorrow’s match with Brighton.
He said: “We decided to protect Cole a little, in terms of (making sure that he is not present).
Rest instead of the reference for the permission
Palmer was struggling with injury for several weeks, but he returned to defeat the Champions League in Bayern Munich and kept his place for A trip to Manchester United last Saturday, but it lasted only 20 minutes before the exit.
He suggested that Chelsea was thinking about the Palmer operation, but Marisca said this was not an option, at this point.
“I don’t think he needs surgery. It is the issue of managing his pain in the thigh, with the amount of games, it is something that can happen. We have decided to be a little conservative with him.”
What games will Palmer miss?
Chelsea has a crowded schedule and can miss three club games.
Chelsea in Brighton (September 27)
Chelsea in Benfica (September 30)
Chelsea in Liverpool (October 4)
It is unlikely to participate in England in October.
England v. Wales (October 9)
Latvia against England (October 14)
If everything is planning, the 23 -year -old may return to Chelsea’s excellent trip to Nottingham Forest on October 18.
