Anil Aguar, President of Fida, says steel and aluminum are not just minerals – they are the hidden confrontation line of global trade war. Since India imposes a 12 % protection duty on steel imports, Agarwal is now pushing for similar aluminum protection.

“We all know that there are two main countries in the trade war, the United States and China. But did you know that there are two decentralized goods – Steel and Aluminium?”

The new protection duty in India, announced in April, aims to protect local steel producers from increasing cheap imports that threaten the stability of the local market. The drawings, which were identified by 12 % for 200 days, targets global prices.

Agarawal clapped this step, but he made a clear warning: Aluminum is the next. He warned, “The big players who lose traditional markets will look at cheap sale in emerging economies such as India.” Looking at the light and recyclable aluminum characteristics, its strategic value is set only to height.

Pointing to the 25 % tariff for the United States on both steel and aluminum imports – even allies such as Canada and Mexico – AGARWAL argued that India should behave before the market is overwhelmed. He said: “Through our huge bauxite reserves, India will be an aluminum center for the world. A huge industry will appear in the direction of the river.”

The message is clear: Protection duties are not just a tariff, they are shields for the future of India’s economic.
