About 50 to 80 other structures were destroyed with burning burning in or near the North Grand Canyon edge in Arizona.
Garden officials say that forest fires have swept a historic hostel, which led to its destruction and dozens of other structures along the Northern Grand Canyon edge in Arizona in the southwest of the United States.
Rangers was forced to close this part of the Grand Canyon National Park on Sunday. The supervisor said Ed Kabul Grand Canyon Lodge was consumed from fire.
He said that the Park visitor center, the gasoline station, the sewage treatment plant, the administrative building and the housing of the employees were also among 50 to 80 structures lost.
Forest fires burn in or near the northern edge. It is known as the White Hakim fire and Bravo Dragon fire. It is the latter that destroyed the hostel and other structures.
Dragon Bravo Fire, which started on the fourth on July 4, initially started by the authorities with the “Inventory and contain” strategy. However, due to hot temperatures, low humidity and strong winds, they grew to 20 square kilometers (7.8 square miles), according to firefighters.
No injuries have been reported yet.
Arizona Katie Hobbes urged the federal government late Sunday to investigate the response of the National Fire Park service.
She said in a post on X.

Millions of people visit the park annually while going to the southern edge. The northern edge is open season. The park said in a statement that it was evacuated on Thursday due to forest fires and will remain closed for the rest of the season.
Grand Canyon Lodge was often the first prominent feature to see visitors, even before watching the valley.
“It seems as if you are a pioneer when you are going through (the hostel),” said Tim Allen, a resident of Arizona and the annual visitor in Grand Canyon. “I really felt that you were at a time.”
Another visitor to the garden that was evacuated with her family, said that she felt sad to hear that such a “magic place” had burned.
North RIM and Chekers were also evacuated in the inner valley on Saturday and Sunday. The park said that besides the danger of fire, they can also be exposed to chlorine gas after burning the treatment plant.
Aramark, the company that runs the hostel, said that all employees and guests have been safely evacuated. “As the rulers of some of the beloved national treasures in our country, we are destroyed from the loss,” said Deby Albert.
One of the greatest wonders of the natural world, Grand Canyon is the result of the Colorado River, which is eating away in layers of red sandstone and other rocks for millions of years, leaving a width of 30 km (18 miles) and a depth of more than 1.6 km (one mile).
Last year, nearly five million people visited the site.
