Pennsylvania governor Josh Shapiro detailed talks about adding another NASCAR in his term, especially in Philadelphia. Shapiro welcomes the idea, as long as he does not spoil the race north of the city in the Pocono race.

According to the NBC10 Philadelphia report, Shapiro, who became the governor of the state in 2023, is considered Franklin Field as a possible stadium to host the NASCAR race. Looking at the field size, the race will be a short event similar to the Pistol and La Coliseum now.

Anxiety is that adding another race in the state can strike the success of the events held in Pocono race. At the end of last week, Pocono officials reported a crowd of third sales in a row, selling 50,000 large tickets, about 2000 suite seats, and 300 camping sites.

Speaking of a chain of automobile racing that hosts a race in the heart of Philadelphia, about two hours from the Pocono Raco Races, Josh Shapiro said:

“There are some conversations (…) first and foremost, we do not want to do anything to undermine Pocono. But, as Ben May (Pocono Raceway Pressing) says, the more nascar, the better.

“I want to see more NASCAR, more races. I also want to see more sports in general.”

While waiting for new developments, Chis Breisco is the latest winner of the race In Pocono Raceway. Joe Gibbs #19 Great American Great 400 started sixth before his colleague religious Hamelin set out in the closing rolls while keeping the fuel.

Naskar, his ideas about the race in Philadelphia

Naskar President Stephen Odonel expressed some Automobile chain chain for the future. One of them includes adding more races in urban areas, with Franklin Field in Philadelphia now at their intersection.

In an interview with Mason Smith from Pocono Record, Odonel said:

“Bicono gave us fans, but when you look at opportunities, one of the places we searched was Franklin Field. It was one of the only places that we could put inside. This is the type of things that, inside the city, we will look at.”

He added:

“The days of the construction of a rural track ended, but if we can build a path with some real estate development around it and partnership with some people, we will look at the main cities and bring the product to the fan base inside the city as well.”

The race plan in Franklin Field, the oldest football field in the United States, is in line with NASCAR initiatives to host events at experimental race sites. Recently, the series held races in Hermanos RodríGuez Autodrome In Mexico City and on the streets of Chicago. However, no path to return next year has been confirmed despite being a success.
