Government media reported that the explosion at a fireworks factory in southern China killed nine people and wounded 26 others.

The state -run Shinachua agency said on Tuesday that the explosion occurred at the Shantchu Motorcycle Company, located near the Changdi city, Hunan Province, shortly before 8:30 am on Monday.

Shenhua said that during the rescue efforts, 28 water tankers and two draining cars were sent to the scene.

The firefighters reported at the explosion site “secondary risks” and the risk of more explosions, adding to the difficulty of rescue efforts, according to the news port in the state.

“During more than 20 hours of continuous and continuous rescue work, firefighters used a remote control to put out the fire to prevent rescue employees from closely approaching and reducing secondary risks.”

The Hunan Provincial Government has established an investigation committee to determine the cause of the explosion and “monitor accountability in accordance with the law,” according to the report.

This accident is the latest industrial accident that draws attention to the safety place in the workplace in China.

Last month, at least five people were killed and 19 others were injured in a chemical plant in Wifang, Shandong Province.

In April, at least 22 people were killed when a fire broke out in a restaurant in the northern city of Liang.
