Google’s iOS app has a new “simplification” feature that uses artificial intelligence to make a complex or technical text easier to understand, all without leaving a web page.

Simplify is characterized by a quick refinement of Google Research and Gemini is used to make the complex text more digestible, without losing the main details. Google says it was found that the simplified text allowed users to understand and keep it better.

By providing a built -in feature like Simplify, Google is likely to hope that people are part of their ecosystem for tools and services to help with complex topics, rather than switching to third -party tools such as Openai’s Chatgpt.

You can use Simplify by selecting any text on a web page you visit in Google and then click on the “Simplification” icon that appears. You will then see a simpler version of the text to help you digest information and allow you to continue reading.

Google’s research blog shares an example in the form of this feature. For example, you may coincide with a clip that reads: “The complex pathology of this condition involves the destruction of a swelling of the lung tum, spreading intellectual fibrosis, changes in the formation of the immune cells of the lung, increasing the production of immune immunity factors, and reshaping them in the pulmonary vessels.”

The simplified text may be read after that: This complex condition includes damage to the lung tissue from puffy lung, a disease that destroys air bags in the lungs, and is widely scarred for lung tissues, which is called fibrosis. The immune cells change in the lungs, and make the body more immune factors, which are substances that control the immune system. The blood vessels change in the lungs a lot. “

Google says the idea behind this feature is to facilitate people understanding the complex topics that they may encounter when trying to learn something new on the web.

“Our goal requires models to accurately reformulate complex ideas without making mistakes or deleting the main details,” Google said in a blog post. “The read -written text should help understand hard materials without sacrificing the integrity of the original information.”

Simplify is presented to iOS users this week.
