Google can automatically create a podcast based on your Discover feed

Google knows a lot about you and your interests, and uses this information to try to get more of your time and attention. For example, a new Search Labs experience called Daily Listening can turn your Discover feed into a professional podcast. Google Discover is a rich feed on mobile devices filled with articles and videos that the company’s algorithms think match your interests based on your search queries and other activity. like 9to5Google Note that this feature is similar to Google’s feature Released for NotebookLM last year. This NotebookLM tool can turn the material you provide into a podcast with two hosts joking around as if they were real people.

Daily Listening can create a podcast episode about 5 minutes long that you can listen to to get an overview of the latest topics you usually follow. You’ll have to sign up for Search Labs if that’s something you want to try by tapping on the flask icon at the top right of the Google app. Once you launch it, you can find your daily listening card under the search bar in the Google app on Android and iOS. Click it to create a podcast, which displays a screen with text and audio controls.

You can clearly see where each section of the podcast begins and ends in the audio scrubber, and you can pause, stop, rewind and fast forward them at any time. You can also give it a thumbs up or down to send your feedback to Google. If you scroll down, you’ll see a bunch of related stories grouped together based on the podcast sections in case you’re looking for more information.

The beta feature will launch today in the US, according to 9to5Googlealthough it may take some time to start seeing the option to create a podcast. It’s not yet clear whether Google has plans to roll it out to other regions, and there are no guarantees that it will get a widespread release.
