Nigerian celebrity chef and Davor Guinness World Hilda Baki do not hide from what drives her success.
“It is) my love for money and good things in life,” says 30 -year -old without shame, laughing at a call from Lagos.
There is nothing mysterious about the Baci – whose spelling has changed its last name from the original Bassey. It is clear that she flourishes in the lights and adopts magic that comes with the most famous in her country.
But there are really two Pax Hilda. She admits that there is Hilda Pak the person, which her family and partner see, then there is Hilda Pak the brand, whose image was carefully coordinated.
“I am a businesswoman first, which means that everything I do, it is important for my work to come first.”
Under the name My Food by Hilda, which includes more than a million followers on Instagram – along with 3.2 million on its personal account – it runs a well -known restaurant in Lagos, as well as providing cooking lessons and special chefs.
“It is good to be an inspiration, but it comes with a little pressure because many people look so far to obtain instructions and answers … I do not allow this to overcome me and lose the focus on what I am trying to achieve.”
The cooking effect, who was born in Kalabar in the south, but at the fifth to the capital, Abuja, with her mother, the older brother and younger sister, got a taste at an early age.
Baki’s mother turned a restaurant against the Ministry of Defense in Abuja and remembers that she will go after a day at the primary school to help.
“I have always got many tips because I used to save the entire list and I was very sharp. So I would like to shout:” What do you want to be, comrades?
The cooking expert achieved the main headlines for the first time in 2023 and cooking it for four days without stopping, which was broke in 93 hours and 11 minutes a global record. Although its record has been overlooked since then, it has gained the exploitation of the attention of politicians and celebrities and inspired a Madness for endurance all over Nigeria.
Then, earlier this month, it set a new Guinness record after cooking more than 8.7 tons of the famous West Africa dish, Golov Rice, in a specially made container.

The emergence of Baki is not accidental or flashing.
It is based on awareness of how to develop its image and is the result of careful planning. For example, she started thinking about the Jollof record more than a year before the event.
When it comes to the initial record, Cook-A -Thon, “I thought about the cost of alternative opportunity: How does this affect my work? What does this do for my brand?”
But despite this single horizon campaign, it did not immediately land as a chef as a profession.
She initially wanted to be a lawyer, then wanted to study international relations and then eventually graduated in sociology.
Baci also had ambitions to be an actress and a TV presenter – “All fun, all the charming things”.
But it may have been a child seeing how her mother’s life turned by achieving success from selling food that sowed a seed that will bloom later.
I started to cook food for organizations and clubs there and found that she was good at that.
With her brother, the food delivery company then started, but it also got a job on the TV screen and was pulled to present the cooking sector in the breakfast display.
In the end, this led to her DINE program on the budget-where she met celebrities while preparing a cheap three-dishes. At the same time, she was working as a special chef.
Her victory in a competition called Jollof also helped a confrontation against a chef from her regional rival Ghana in raising her personal file and recorded $ 5,000 (3700 pounds).
All this was built towards creating my food by Hilda brand.
With her mother’s influence and her thanks for not being forced to work in the job of white collars, as a religious Christian, she also feels that God had a role.
“I think when you do something, God wants you to do, allows you to know that, and makes the response.”

One of them expects to find that she should constantly strike marriage and fulfill a sexual role.
“Oh my God, every day – in my social media comments section … people ask” when do you get married? When do you get married? “
“I feel that this is something in this part of the world, where it seems as if you were not married, perhaps your achievement is not complete. But I am grateful for the progress that we were able to make, gay people and many other amazing women, without married title.
“Of course I want to get married, I am a lover girl, but this is not something that I press for myself. My desire to marry is that I am with someone I am happy with and loved, not because society wants me to get married now.”
But this is Hilda Pak the person. When you think about Hilda Pak the brand has a clear ambition.
“I want to build a legacy that will follow me … You know when they say:” This company has lasted 100 years – this is the vision that I have for my work. “
As part of this, it wants to open outlets around the world, including in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada and South Africa, and help make Nigerian cuisine known all over the world like the Chinese equivalent.
Jollof is already on the map, but with a typical BALIS BACI self -meal also keen to share another rice dish.
“I have a distinctive coconut rice recipe that I want to go globally, I want every family in its list.”
