French actor Gerard Depardio was ordered to trial on allegations of rape and sexual assault in 2018.

The accused, actor Charlotte Arnold, said that she was comfortable because the case would go to the court, seven years after submitting a complaint.

Depardieu, 76, denied the charges, and insisted on his relationship with Arnould by mutual consent.

In May, he was convicted of sexual assault on two film production crew four years ago – and put him on the list of sexual crimes, but not prison. He denied their allegations.

“Seven years later, seven years of terror and hell … I think I am facing a problem in realizing how huge is. I am comfortable,” Arnold wrote in a post on social media.

Arnold’s lawyer, Karen Dorio Dipolt, confirmed that Depardio had ordered the trial on charges of alleged assault and rape through Arnold’s digital penetration on two occasions at his home in Paris in August 2018.

“My client and I felt comfortable and confident. This is a form of Judicial truth of Charlotte while waiting for a criminal trial.”

The date of the trial has not yet been set.

In a letter published in Le Figaro in 2023, DePardieu denied the allegations, and wrote: “Never offended a woman.”

“There was no coercion, violence or protest between us,” he said, referring to Arnold.

The case was initially rejected due to insufficient evidence, but after Arnold filed a complaint as a civil party, a judicial investigation was opened in the summer of 2020.
