the General Hospital Actress that she is Currently on vacation From the TV series Via Instagram On Monday, October 13, she learned of her latest health problems during a brain scan in January.
Storms, 41, explained that after her 2021 brain surgery — to remove a different cyst — her neurosurgeon was “watching the cyst he left on my brain when he removed the cyst that was causing me problems.”
Storms admitted she was “shocked” when the scan revealed an aneurysm on the right side of her brain. “I had surgery this weekend,” she said. While Storms said the procedure was “routine”, her aneurysm was a “complicated condition” and so doctors were unable to “coil” her during the procedure.
Endovascular coiling is used to “block blood flow to the aneurysm,” according to Johns Hopkins Medicinewhich describes an aneurysm as a “weakened area in the wall of an artery.” If an aneurysm ruptures, the hospital says it can cause bleeding and life-threatening damage, which is why coiling is used to try to prevent it from rupturing.
For her part, Storms said Tuesday that she was able to return home in January and finish work, move to Tennessee with her daughter, Harper, and plan her hiatus from the soap before she has to return for a second surgery this month. Since I knew what an aneurysm was, the scan in January scared the hell out of me.”
Storms then shut down rumors about why she was in the hospital earlier this year, writing: “A few days after I got out of the hospital (in January), someone created a blog post saying I was in the hospital that weekend because I tried to ‘not live’ myself. I couldn’t understand why someone would make up something so terrible, when they had no idea why I was really there.”

“There are a few things that are truly messed up. We all know that… but there are people in my life that I’m really grateful to know,” she admitted.
Storms then gave a shout-out to Rylan, 44, after she stood by her during the 2021 procedure and is back with her this tour. “One of these people made a load of sweaters with me. They are amazing. 😍 @EmmeRylan @kirstenandemme #CrochetingIsGoodForTheBrain #KickinIt,” she concluded.
