After announcing the “very successful” American strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities in Fordo, Natanz and Asphan, US President Donald Trump addressed the nation.
Here is the full text of his request on Saturday evening:
A short time ago, the American army carried out huge strokes on the three major nuclear facilities in the Iranian regime: Fordow, Natanz and ISFAHAN.
Everyone heard those names for years because they bopped this terrible destroyed institution. Our goal was to destroy the ability of Iranian nuclear enrichment and stop the nuclear threat represented by the first terrorist state sponsor in the world.
Tonight, I can inform the world that strikes were amazing military success. The main nuclear enrichment facilities in Iran were completely obliterated. Iran, the fatwa in the Middle East, must make peace now.
If they do not, the future attacks will be much larger and easier.
For 40 years, Iran was saying, “Death to America, death for Israel.”
They were killing our people, exploding their arms, and their legs exploded by bombs on the side of the road – that was their specialty.
We have lost more than a thousand people, and hundreds of thousands died throughout the Middle East and around the world as a direct result of their hatred, in particular, many have been killed by the general, Djibouti and Somali.
I decided a long time ago that I wouldn’t let this happen.
It will not continue.
I want to thank and congratulate Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu.
We have worked as a team like perhaps no team before, and we have come a long way to erase this terrible threat to Israel.
I would like to thank the Israeli army for the wonderful function they did, and most importantly, I would like to congratulate the great American patriots who flew those wonderful machines tonight, and all the United States army in an unprecedented operation in the world in many decades.
We hope that we will no longer need their services in this capacity. I hope it is so. I would also like to congratulate the head of the joint chiefs of staff, General Dan “Razin” – amazing general – and all the wonderful military minds that involve this attack.
With everything that is said, this cannot continue.
There will be either peace or there will be a much larger tragedy for Iran than what we have seen over the past eight days.
Remember that there are many remaining goals. The tonight of all of them was largely, and perhaps the most deadly, but if peace did not come quickly, we will obey those other goals with accuracy, speed and skill. Most of them can be removed within minutes.
There is no army in the world that could have done what we did tonight, not even soon. There was no army that could do what happened a short time ago.
Tomorrow, General Kane, Defense Minister Beit Higseth, will have a press conference at 8 am (12:00 GMT) in the Pentagon, and I want to thank everyone, in particular, God.
I just want to say, “We love you, God, and we love our great army. They protect them.” God bless the Middle East. God bless Israel and may God bless America.
Thank you very much. Thank you.
