Less than a week after the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime, FRANCE 24’s Wassim Nasr traveled to Syria to interview opposition leader Ahmed al-Sharaa, known by his nom de guerre Abu Muhammad al-Julani. Crossing from Aleppo in the north to Damascus in the south, Nasr passed through the towns and cities of the newly liberated country, documenting its people and landscape along the way.
