On the first historic history, conservative leader Friedrich Mirz’s attempt to become the tenth adviser to Germany since World War II failed with six votes in Parliament on Tuesday, an unexpected defeat.

A candidate for the consultant has not failed to win the first ballot since the end of the war. The loss led to a decrease in the stock market segment: the index of major German companies decreased by 1.8 percent after voting.

Mirz needed a majority of 316 out of 630 votes. Just 310 votes – less than 328 seats occupied by his alliance, which is already one of the majority after the war.

The Mirz alliance, which was formed after the February elections, is leading its Christian Democratic Union in the center (CDU). They are joined by the Bavarian brother party, the Christian Social Union, the Social Democrats in the center, and the outgoing adviser party, Olaf Schools.

Julia Chloicker, President of the Parliament in Germany, Bondstag, said that nine lawmakers abstained from 307 against Mirz.

I have Bundestag 14 days to elect a candidate with an absolute majority, Another was scheduled to vote on Tuesday afternoon.

Schools is still in supporters until a new advisor is taking over.

“An annoying process”

The setback with Germany is scheduled to participate in a group of summits next month, which includes the European Union in Brussels, NATO in The Hague, the Netherlands, and the Group 7 summit hosted by Canada in Kananascis, Alta, between 15 and 17 June.

Germany is the second largest resource for military aid to Ukraine after the United States, and in defense spending, it ranks fourth in the world, according to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, which studies trends in global military expenditures.

“The world is in turmoil. Europe needs strong Germany,” Carretten Lenman, Secretary -General of Christian Democrats, told reporters after Mirz’s loss. He said that the second vote should come soon.

“We cannot wait for days now, we need clarity quickly.”

Germany has the largest economy in the continent and is a heavy diplomatic weight. The new adviser’s wallet will include the war in Ukraine and the Donald Trump administration’s commercial policy at the top of local issues, such as the stagnant economy in Germany and the rise of an extremist and immigrant right party.

Mirz made amazingly explicit comments about the state of the relationship with the United States after the election of February, saying: “It is clear that the Americans, at least this part of the Americans, this administration, is largely indifferent to the fate of Europe.”

In addition to intensifying defensive spending, the Mirz alliance pledged to stimulate economic growth, take a tougher approach to immigration and catch up with the long -awaited modernization.

Mirz can run again, but other lawmakers can also throw their hats in the ring. There is no limit to the number of votes that can be held within a period of two weeks.

If Mirz or any other candidate fails to obtain this majority during the 14 days, the constitution allows the president to appoint the candidate who wins the largest number of votes as a consultant, or to solve Bundestag and hold new national elections.

Johan and Edvol, the upcoming foreign minister, said he was confident that Mirz will eventually prevail.

“It is a disturbing process, but in parliamentary democracy, in a liberal country, this is unfortunately one of the scenarios that you should be ready for,” he told reporters.

Watch the February Election Summary:

German conservatives to win the elections, but in the far right of the extreme right, the exit polls offered

On Sunday in Germany, the pollinations of the opposition leader, Ferdrich Mirz, the Christian Democrat and its Bavarian brother party, the Christian Social Union, showed its path to victory in the national elections. Meanwhile, the alternative to Germany (AFD) has almost supported its support, which is the most powerful width of an extremist right -wing party since World War II. Whether Mirz will need one partner or two partners to form an alliance based on the number of parties that enter Parliament.

Volker Resing, who wrote the last biography Friedrich Mirz: his way to powerHe expressed a surprise at the beginning of the events.

“It shows the extent of the fragility of the coalition and that some legislators are ready to publish uncertainty – this is a warning sign,” Rising told Associated Press.

Rising said that if Mirz is elected in the second round, everything will be fine and people may soon forget these hiccups. But “now everything is wide open.”

The right right coalition is the weak “weak”

Alice Widel, the co -captain of the far -right alternative, against the immigrants of the Germany Party, criticized Mirz as evidence that his alliance had a “weak foundation.”

AFD is the largest opposition party in the new parliament in Germany after ranked second in the February elections. Despite its historical gains, the coalition talks have been closed due to the so -called “Wall of the Protection” that the prevailing German political parties have supported cooperation with extremist right -wing parties since the end of the war.

Last week, the German local intelligence service said it ranked AFD as a “right -wing” extremist organization, making it subject to larger and wider monitoring.

Local intelligence ceremony does not rise to the party’s ban, which can only happen through the request of any of the two chambers of parliament, or the federal government through the Federal Constitutional Court.

Mirz did not publicly comment on the intelligence service decision.

The American administration has been repeatedly shocked since Trump in January. Trump, who has German roots, often expressed his hatred of the former Chancellor Angela Merkel – who led CDU – during his first term in his post.

During the Munich Conference in February, Vice President JD Vance attacked security and later met him with Widel, instead of Germany’s leader, Schouls.

Trump’s ally, Elon Musk, also hosted a conversation with Widel, who was exposed to X earlier this year to inflate her party’s message.
