Fortnite will even let you play as Godzilla, if you’re lucky

If your gaming plans for this weekend don’t somehow include walking around as Godzilla , I don’t know what to tell you. The Legendary Giant will descend on the island for a limited time starting January 17, and you may have the opportunity to take control of it.

Developer Epic Games, there is a small possibility that a portal will appear on the map during Battle Royale matches. The first player to locate and jump in will appear as a fantastic monster. Godzilla can use his roar ability to detect nearby players, use a stomp attack to send them flying and tear apart buildings with a heat beam.

Godzilla is also a de facto boss for other players. They can attack weak points to deal extra damage and cut off collectible parts that provide a health boost and dash charges. Epic also brought the rail gun back into the game to help players take down the massive creature. It appears that the event will continue until the current season ends on February 21.

The outfit will start glowing after you secure your first kill in a match and gets brighter after each elimination – so it may actually penalize you for playing too well if you become too visible to enemies.

There’s also a Kong and Mechagodzilla costume pack coming to the store. The latter lights up when you attack enemy players. The reveal of this costume in the event trailer is quite funny, as Mechagodzilla stomps on buildings until the camera zooms out to reveal a miniature city. I really hope this is part of a new expression.
