Foreign citizens represent about 12 percent of prison residents in England and Wales, where dairy is the largest foreign sexual group in British prisons. The average annual cost of the prison place is 54,000 pounds, according to official figures.

Government data shows that 5,200 foreign national criminals have been deported since July 2024, an increase of 14 percent over the past 12 months.
