Florian Mother XHEKAJ, Simona, reacts, after she cut Canadiens forward from a list before the start of the 2025-26 NHL season

Florian xhekaj’s the mom, SimonaShe participated in a heart message after Montreal Canadiens announced that her younger son was among the final cuts before the opening match of the 2025-26 season.

Canadiens got their list in 23 players (Al -Douri Hadd). Florian xhekaj, the younger brother of ARBER, has been reset to the Laval missile.

Simona Expressed its pride on X, writing:

“Flah, we are proud of you, thank you for three games that you played with your brother. It was amazing to watch you together on the ice at the same time. This has just started.

Florian left a strong impression during the camp. He appeared in three games before the season, scored one goal, ran +3, and got three battles with 25 minutes of a penalty.

Canadiens opens their normal season to Toronto on Wednesday in Scotiabank Arena.

Simona xhekaj could not curb her emotions after watching her son, Florian XHEKAJ, scored his first goal in Preseason on September 23 in Bell Center v. Philadelphia Flaces.

Florian scored in his first game playing alongside his brother, Arber XHEKAJ. In the stands, their mother, Simona, tear as she watched a Florian scoring his first goal in the game.

“It is very difficult to explain it. I am full of emotions. This is what we did for and the children are working for it. It is a dream come true, right? I always say that dreams are fulfilled when they work hard,” Simona said after the match. (For all nhl.com)

Simona worked until midnight the night before. With some encouragement from her manager, she traveled from Hamilton to see her children playing together.

Florian also shared how important their mother is there. He explained that she surprised them before the match and got their vision together.

“I think it was a really big moment for her to see two sons playing a game … so, yes, it is unique to her to come here.”

Xhekaj, who spent last season with Rocket Laval, Montreal AHL, scored 35 points (24 goals, 11 passes) in 69 games.
