The European Court of Human Rights recently ruled against the Italian state for its failure to act and put the lives of the local population in danger. This case, which was brought by residents and NGOs from an area near Napoli known as “fire ground”, came after they noticed a large number of cancer diagnoses and high levels of pollution in groundwater. The cause of pollution was the toxic waste delivered by Camora, the Napoli Mafia. Our correspondent report.
