Graham Potter is a man who is under pressure while his team West Ham is struggling to face Everton Monday night football.

The last weekend’s defeat on Crystal Palace was the fifth in six games in all competitions this season and pushed severe speculation about the future of Chelsea and Breton.

In an exclusive interview with Sky SportsPotter explains how he and his players are committed to each other, and why he needs time to change the culture in the club, and why he does not have regret to take over the job.

Recovery from the loss of the palace

Potter: “It is always difficult when you have a bad result, wherever you are, up and down in the country. This is the job, this is life.

“For players, because they are very committed to what we are trying to do and because of how much they want to change things, there is a huge disappointment. So, your job is to deal with that, support, capture and move forward.

“Deal with the weekend, deal with relapse, deal with the result, then consider how to improve you and how to go forward and try to win the next match.

“I have nothing but respect for the players, to be honest, due to how they harm them and their disappointment, but at the same time, hold each other.

“They adhered to what we are trying to do, staying professionals, staying focused, bearing responsibility, and not doing things that make you feel that things are not going well, and they blame others or push them elsewhere.

“Everyone has taken this responsibility and ownership. They are determined to change our wealth and I have great respect for the players for that.”

Dealing with pressure

Potter: “This is what you register at the highest level.

“It is good to talk about when things are going well, but in the end what gives us the possibility of working at this level is the ability and ability to deal with adversity.

“I think that when you are in these situations, your responsibility towards the team, to the club, for the employees here, to ensure that you are dealing with it in a good way, to take responsibility yourself, to accept the situation and how you need to improve.

“Whatever criticism that could be understood because of the results we got. You just have to ask,” Well, what is the perspective? What is the context? How can we improve things, then try and move forward? “

“You should be grateful for the challenge. You must be grateful for the fact that it pushes you to the maximum. If you want to stay comfortable, I will not return to this world. This is the Premier League that we are talking about.

“There are 20 coaches in the world who get an opportunity to work in this league, therefore, by definition, it is not easy, that it is not something you should consider as a foregone foregone or you think it will be clear and comfortable walking in the garden.

“It will come with a lot of adversity, a lot of pain, and a lot of suffering at times, but you have to look at it and be grateful for that because it allows you to grow, allows you to be better and when you pass it, it makes you stronger.

“I think this is what this club needs, and it must reach a position together, build confidence, build this collective work, build this call, then we can move forward.”

Is the function more strict than expected?

Potter: “You never know the certainty until it comes to the club.

“However, due to the presence of two changes from the manager in a relatively short time, some investment in the team, some of them marched well, some of them did not do so, culture and how this affects the environment, you know that it will not be clear.

“In any job you need some time to fix these problems, change things around them, and transfer things in the right direction.

“The challenge we all face is that you have to get short -term results to enable people to believe that you got what it takes or the ability to keep the task move forward.

“This is eventually the challenge of everyone in the Premier League. Because of what we are and the results we got, there is always a scrutiny, suspicion and negative, and this is normal.

“We have to remain strong and we have to continue moving forward and continue to work on how to get out of the position we are.”

The challenge of changing culture

Potter: “You have to align everyone with what you are trying to do.

Then at the same time, you look at every opportunity to improve your play team and bring players in this regard.

“It is like any relationship. The more you know, the more you understand, the more information you have, the more confidence. The more you pass through some difficult times together and you see how you behave each other, come across the other side.

“It builds confidence, it builds belief.

“I think you should look at it in these ways.

“Football is not different from most organizations. If you will change things significantly, you need some time, or you need some big investments.

“Even this is not guaranteed in football, given the league’s competitiveness. It is not always the answer.

“So it is very complicated, and for this reason it is much easier to view short -term results and make your auditors.”

Is the owners on the same page?

Potter: “I think every person linked to the club feels frustrated by the result we achieved against Crystal Palace.

“I felt that the team’s balance in the attack and defense was not as good as it could have been, and therefore we started a little weak. This is something that we have to improve.

“I think we are sharing those opinions. We also know that we must continue to work and improve the team and make things better. Therefore, we are all on the same page in this regard.”

The team’s choices and the support of the wing

Potter: “You have to analyze things as you can. It is a balance between change and stability.

“If you think you are not too far, then,” well, how can we continue to move and what can we do to improve? “

“There are precise lines in football. We applauded and it was positive in the first half against Tottenham. Then very quickly, the game accidentally disappears in the goal, then a red card and then in the afternoon uncomfortable.

“So you cannot continue to chase the result and continue to change everything. Stability is also important, but with a thin line, because in our job, there is always a need to think about how to improve.”

One of the players in the spotlight is James Ward-Verse, whose poor shape laid down its starting point under the audit of supporters.

“It brings a lot of experience,” says Potter of Ward-Prowse. “He understood the game. He is an experienced player with different features.

“It helps us inside and outside the possession and also with the group with regard to being a leader and a person with good respect.

“I think he plays a great role for us.”

Is young people the way forward?

Potter: “I think we need to adjust things a little in terms of the team’s age, but we also signed Callum Wilson and Kyle Walker-Peters players who know the league.

“I think the employment balance was true. It is not always related to young players. You need a mixture of professionals who can help the environment and can help people improve.

“I think Callum and Kyle have done it well. However, I think there is a need to pump some young people and some freshness in the team.

“Although he was not here as long as the owner of Diouf, I think Matius Fernandez will also be a great player for us too.”

Confronting Everton … and Muzy

Potter: “They have done a good job. They got an effective team.

“I think they are also a quality team.

“They use Jack Grilliche.

“So they have a good attack unit. As you expect David Moyes teams, they are organizers and two defensive.

“It will be a difficult game, but it is also an opportunity for us to show ourselves and show that we can compete and win games at this level.

“I spoke to David before we played them last time, at the end of the last season. We had a good conversation and spoke positively about the club.

“It is a great example of how professions are up and loudly and continues to move forward. He is a manager that I respect greatly.”

His message to West Ham fans

Potter: “Nobody wants us to be in the position in which we are. We have a lot of talents in the team and we have to continue to move forward. We have to adhere together. I think we must be strong in that.

“Of course, our responsibility is to improve our performance and get more positive results. If not, it is difficult to understand from the perspective of the supporter.

“There is a great team spirit here. There is a relationship with the strong team as I felt.

“But we all understand the world we are too. This is something we are working on all the time.”
