European leaders have warned of the Ukrainian borders, which are forcibly reinforced-two days before the summit of Russia in Ukraine, is scheduled to be held in Alaska.
In a statement, European leaders said, “The people of Ukraine should enjoy freedom to determine their future.”
He added, the principles of “regional integrity” must be respected, and international borders should not be changed by force.
The statement was signed by 26 of 27 leaders. He was missing from the signers, Victor Urban, the leader of Hungary, who maintained friendly relations with Russia and has repeatedly tried to ban the European Union’s support for Ukraine.
The statement stressed that the nervousness that the Europeans feel about Moscow’s actions in Ukraine, which many countries – especially those adjacent to Russia or those that are still the memory of the Soviet occupation remain – can pose a direct threat in the near future.
In recent years, Sweden and Finland have joined NATO, and the Baltic countries have re -recruited, and Poland has allocated billions to build a barrier along with its borders with Russia.
European countries have a long history of the boundaries that are re -drawn by bloody wars and are very concerned about the possibility of the United States to happen in Ukraine. The legal recognition of Russia’s sovereignty over the lands it invaded by force is unacceptable to the European Union.
However, the idea that some Ukrainian regions that are currently under Russian control may not return to Kiev gaining the land.
US President Donald Trump insisted that any peace deal will include “some land exchange” and may see Russia take the entire Dunpas region in eastern Ukraine and maintain the Crimea. On the other hand, it will abandon the regions of Jacon and Zaborisvia, which are partially occupied.
Last week, while admitting that some Ukrainian lands may end up until Russia controlled, NATO President Mark Retty confirmed that they should not be officially recognized.
In their statement, European leaders said, “The Russian war of aggression against Ukraine has wider effects on European and international security,” and stressed the need for “a just and lasting peace.”
They also said that Ukraine should be able to “defend itself effectively” and pledged to continue to provide military support to Kev, who was “exercising its right to self -defense.”
The statement concluded that “the European Union emphasizes the right inherent in Ukraine to choose its fate and will continue to support Ukraine on its way towards the membership of the European Union.”
Heating the clear unit of the advertisement was a line of smaller printing at the bottom of the page indicating that “Hungary does not link itself with this statement.”
In a post on social media, his leader Victor Urban said he chose to support the statement because he tried to set conditions for a society that the European Union was not invited and warned the leaders not to start “providing instructions from the seat.”
He also urged the European Union to create its own summit with Russia – although the leaders of the European Union have ignored direct talks with Moscow since it launched its invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
Trump revealed on Monday that he sought Urban’s advice on the chances of winning Ukraine against Russia in the battlefield. “He looked like me,” What a stupid question, “Trump said,” What a stupid question, “which indicates that Urban felt that Russia would continue to wage a war until it overcomes its opponent.
European Union leaders are scheduled to hold Trump on Wednesday. They will hope to put the security of the European continent and the Ukrainian interests at the forefront of his mind – at a time when nervousness grows because peace imposed on Ukraine may not be “only” nor “permanent”.
Trump and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, are expected to meet on Friday.
