European JPMorgan president is planning to move from London to New York, while maintaining his role in managing the bank’s business, Middle East and Africa.
Philipo Guri, a president of JPMorgan, participating in global banking services, moved to the United Kingdom from Hong Kong last year after promoting to the double role.
But the Italian banker is now leaving to New York, informed people familiar with the position of the Financial Times.
One person said that Guri will spend “at least half of his time” in Europe, the Middle East and Africa for the rest of this year and will continue to be very visible between employees and clients in the region.
The person added that the UK organizers were aware that Gori might move to the United States since he was appointed CEO of JPMorgan in Europe, the Middle East and Africa in 2024.
Gori is the latest in a series of examples of senior bankers who oversee UK operations from the United States.
Sir Mark Taker, who heads HSBC, is based in London, lives in New York, while Barclays Cs Venkatakrishnan, who was previously working in JPMorgan, is divided between New York and the United Kingdom.
The Wall Street lender has reorganized the Investment Bank in recent years and has reshaped leadership roles throughout the group as a handful of executives competing against Jimmy Damon as CEO, who has managed the bank since 2006.
Gori spent more than a decade in Hong Kong with JPMorgan before his promotion last year to participate in the global banking department of the lender, one of the main lines of work within its commercial and investment bank.
Doug Betno, who was rising to the head of the global banking unit at JPMorgan at the same time that GORI was upgraded again in January to participate in linking the Commercial and Investment Bank.
This promotion in Bettino collided with the list of possible Dimon alternatives, which reached 69 in March, and GORI now runs global banking services with John Simons.
The other major competitors against Dimon is Marianne Lake, President of the Part -Parties Consumer Bank at JPMorgan, and Troy Rohrbau, the other president of the Commercial and Investment Bank.
The person familiar with Gary’s move said that it is not uncommon for bankers to live and work in different places. The person added: “As a participant president of global banking services, the road will be a lot anyway, including in the United States, regardless of where he lives,” the person added.
Jpmorgan and Gori refused to comment.
