Kunal Shah-backed investment platform Stack Wealth has gone under the radar after an undated video clip featuring its CEO Smriti Tomar went viral on social media for all the wrong reasons. In this video, Tomar can be seen scolding a group of employees because they were not able to achieve sales targets.

“If you haven’t made enough sales, you won’t get the full and final settlement (FNF),” she can be heard telling a group of employees. To make matters worse, she can be heard referring to one employee as “stupid.”

When an employee reads the terms and conditions of the contract, she threatens that she will send another mail regarding the same contract.

Needless to say, the video that went viral angered netizens. They called the young CEO a “deserving brat” and fought for a proper structure and laws to hold people in power accountable for their actions.

“I spoke to Smriti once, she is very naughty and considers most people to be less than her,” one user said.

“I interviewed here and almost planned to join this, but the negotiations made me feel a little uncomfortable, so I didn’t join. Thank God I didn’t join this,” another user wrote.

“I think we really need a proper structure and law to hold these people accountable, the startup ecosystem in India is getting pathetic by the day. My friend works at ola and seriously, the environment is so bad that I can even describe it, same with my colleague at zepto no hours Work, people are randomly working until 4-5am,” a third user commented.

“I think she should sit down and do the sales guy’s job… People should realize that marketing and sales are the hardest jobs to do!! The company should have a strategy and teach the salesperson how to pitch the right way,” another user noted, “Instead of… Putting all the burden on them and blaming them for not making enough sales… I think people work hard at private sector jobs because they don’t want to go through that.”

Another user wrote: “I received a call from Stealth to open an office. But then they ignored me even after quietly following up several times. Lucky for me I’m not part of that workplace!”

Meanwhile, a former employee said in a LinkedIn post that he was fired without any prior notice on January 4, while claiming that the company withheld his December salary.

He said he was informed just one day later that he would not receive his salary, and that several other people had been let go on the same day in similar circumstances.

When he asked for clarification, all he was told was that his performance was inadequate and he soon discovered that Stack Wealth owed around INR 7.5 lakh in unpaid rent for their office building.
