England and Pakistan will face each other in the 16th match of the currently ongoing Women’s World Cup 2025. The match is scheduled to be played on Wednesday (October 15) at the R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.

With three wins from as many matches, England currently sit second in the points table and are one of the only two unbeaten teams in the competition. A win in the next match would see England regain first place.

England have never lost an ODI against Pakistan and will be favorites to win the upcoming match as well. In their last tour, they thrashed Sri Lanka by 89 runs at the same venue.

A brilliant century from Nat Sciver-Brunt took England to 253/9 before they bowled out Sri Lanka by just 164 runs. With a good performance on their side, England will be looking for another win and strengthening their position.

Pakistan, on the other hand, has endured a terrible campaign so far. Not only did they lose all their matches, they were also outplayed in most of them. After three defeats in the same number of matches, the team is currently at the bottom of the points table.

Pakistan have never won an ODI against England and it will take something extraordinary for them to overcome their formidable hosts in the next match. Even if Pakistan fails to win the match, they will be keen to put up a respectable performance.

In their last match, they suffered a crushing 107-run defeat at the hands of Australia. They did well with the ball to reduce Australia to 76/7 before a century from Beth Mooney took the seven-time world champions to 221. In reply, Pakistan were all out for just 114 runs.
