Wendy Osifo’s husband Eddie could lose his law license after his surprise arrest on fraud charges

According to a report from Us WeeklyEddie, 41, could face consequences from the state of D.C. if he is found guilty of any of the 18 crimes he is charged with, including insurance fraud, conspiratorial insurance fraud, and making a false statement to a police officer.
“Most states, including Washington, D.C., impose disciplinary procedures on attorneys convicted of fraud or other dishonorable crimes,” said Sam Bassett, a Texas criminal defense attorney. “They usually wait until the criminal case is resolved, but in extreme cases they may ask the criminal court to make failure to practice law a condition of bail.”

Criminal defense attorney John W. Day issued a similar statement, saying Eddie’s potential conviction for a “serious crime” could cause major problems for the TV personality in the future.
“Just being charged with a felony does not automatically mean Eddie Osifo will lose his law license, but if he is convicted or pleads guilty to a felony — or a ‘serious offense’ that could include a felony or a crime involving moral turpitude — the Washington, D.C. Disciplinary Board could seek to impose discipline on him, which could include disbarment,” Day said.
