There was a desperate search for a volunteer fire driver who disappeared when the flooding swept his emergency car near Cow Creek in Texas Hill Country.
The former head of the International Fire Department, Gary Ludwig, said that fire chief Michael Phillips, from the Volunteer Marble Fire Department, had disappeared early on Saturday after being invaded by flood water while a call was responding near Cao Kreik in Travis Province, Texas, 50 miles from Austin, Texas.
“Chief Phillips was driving an emergency when it was lost late this morning,” Ludwig wrote in a Facebook post.
“The car was found; however, the president has not been found with the car, or anywhere else so far,” continued.

The horrific pictures of the Philips truck show that they are completely shattered and covered in flood wreckage. Ludwig said Philips was still missing from Sunday evening.
“It is actively looking for Philips”, where the search area focuses on three distinct areas of FM 1431 between the FAITH and Cow Creek Academy, with additional search north of the American Highway 281 near Hamilton Creek in Burnet.
