More than 30 Palestinians were killed and 50 others were injured in an Israeli air strike on the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.

Medics told Reuters news agency that a post office housing displaced Palestinian families was bombed, in addition to nearby homes.

Pictures from the scene show young children covered in dust and blood under the rubble of a collapsed building.

Nuseirat is one of the eight historic refugee camps in the Gaza Strip that were established in 1948 after the forced expulsion of Palestinians from neighboring areas, and which are often called Nakba or “catastrophe”.
