The inhabitants and security personnel in Huaraz, Ach, Peru were working to remove debris and mud after two landslides were killed, according to Reuters reports.
The cause of the ground collapse was due to an ice lake flooding in the Casska River, according to the National Institute for the Searching for Ice Rivers and Mountain Ecological Systems (Inaign).
According to INAIGEM, there are 160 lakes at risk of overflowing in the Ancash area.
