Your guide to what the second period of Trump means to Washington, business and the world
Donald Trump said that the United States will stop its campaign to bomb against the Houthi targets in Yemen in response to the assurances of the rebel group that it would stop its attacks on ships in the region.
The US president said: “The Houthis have declared … or at least declared to us that they did not want to fight anymore,” said the US president. “They do not want to fight, we will honor it, and we will stop the bombings, and they surrendered.”
Trump was speaking at the Oval Office while he met Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carne at the White House on Tuesday. Trump is expected to travel to the next Middle East, with a stop in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
