Delhi Airport to cancel 114 daily flights to upgrade the runway from June 15 to September 15; Check the details

Delhi Airport is scheduled to eliminate 114 daily flights from June 15 to September 15, where it is subject to the upgrade of the runway mission, according to the Delhi International Airport President (DIAL), Video Kumar Jaipuriar.

The work, which was previously delayed due to congestion fears, will enhance the ILS tool (ILS) system according to the CAT III standards, which ensures a safer decline in low -definition conditions usually during winter fog. This upgrade is very important to maintain operational efficiency during the difficult winter months when fog can significantly affect vision and flight tables.

Indira Gandhi International Airport, the largest and most crowded, runs about 1,450 flights per day. With Runway RW 10/28 scheduled for upgrade, 200 trips will be affected over a period of three months, with a cancellation of 114 and the reslu off of 86 to less preoccupied periods. Although the runway will reopen in mid -September, ILS is expected to conclude by November 27, before the winter season. This schedule guarantees that the airport is completely ready to deal with the increasing challenges posed by winter weather conditions.

At a press conference on Friday, Jeeporer said: “Delhi Airport deals with 1,450 flying movement a day. Among these, 114 daily movements will be canceled while upgrading the runway. Passengers will face short -term inconvenience, but they will definitely benefit in the long term.” It is expected that the upgrade will improve flights during thick fog, which often causes significant delays. By strengthening the runway capabilities, Dial aims to reduce disturbances and maintain a high level of service for passengers.

The closure of the runway will reduce the airport’s arrival capacity from 42 flights per hour to 32, which affects major roads such as those to Mumbai and Batna. This strategic decision comes during a less travel season to prevent disturbances during the ceremonial travel periods. The climate dilution plan is also prepared to treat harsh weather conditions, with a report expected by the end of the year.

Current promotions include Runway Cat III-B compatible, an advanced system that allows landing in a very low vision. This strategic reform aims to enhance winter processes, which reduces delay during the months of fog. All changes in the schedule were coordinated with the General Directorate of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to ensure the minimum disorder of the passengers. By upgrade to Cat III-B, the airport significantly enhances its ability to deal with harmful weather conditions, thus improving safety and efficiency in general.

Previous attempts to upgrade the runway were stopped in April due to unexpected weather changes and insufficient rationalization by airlines, causing chaos. The Ministry of Civil Aviation had to intervene and direct the demand for work to stop working and coordinate better with airlines to reduce the inconvenience of passengers. This current strategic experience was informed, with more powerful planning and coordination to ensure a smoother process this time.

A new opening plan has been developed in cooperation with airlines, DGCA, air traffic control and the Ministry of Civil Aviation to prevent successive delay. This plan is part of a broader strategy to efficiently manage flight schedules while closing the runway, coinciding with a less preoccupied period to reduce the impact on travelers.
