David Warner picks Australia’s opener for the Sri Lanka tour

Former Australian opener David Warner expressed his preference for Travis Head To open the batting for Australia in the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka which begins on January 29 in Galle. Warner’s comments come amid discussions about the ideal lineup for the Australian national team as it prepares to face the difficult conditions in the Indian subcontinent.

Warner, who has been a supporter of Australian cricket, stressed the importance of experience when it comes to opening the innings in Sri Lanka. Despite his leaning towards Head, Warner has not completely ruled out Constas’ potential. However, Warner noted that although Konstas has shown promise, he could benefit from more experience before taking charge of the opener in difficult conditions. “Can Sam do it too? Maybe he can. In a twist on his analysis, Warner also suggested that opening for both Head and Konstas together could be an exciting option. “For me, it’s about their game and what they have to do, and that’s basically instinct.” He said. “I think it would be a good move if they did that (open with Head).” “On the other hand, it wouldn’t be a bad move if Sam opened up.”
