Danny McGueri, Custelford Tigerers coach, admitted that Leeds Renos’ departure in 2017 to continue his exciting career “hit him”.

“I felt that I had been pressured since I was ten years old. When I first fell on Leeds and remembered to go to everyone, I play with East Leeds and go to all different clubs, and everyone was saying,“ Oh, he fell on Leeds ”and they were all trying.

“So I had proven myself from a young age and this was just another challenge, as someone decided that I was not the person I was not, and I think I will show you.

“But it is clear after that, I got an entire KR trip on her back and I will not change anything now.

“As you know, Al -Rakhbi was very difficult for two years in KR and it was very up and down. We went through some good moments, but then training and what I learned and the people I met on the back of that, I will not change that.”

Leaving KR: I saw myself as part of the long -term process

Once his career ended in Robins, McGuire joined the BackRoom team, and he was a assistant coach for Tony Smith before he became a temporary coach after his departure.

In 2023, he returned to his role as an assistant coach during the era of the current coach Willie Peters and signed a contract that he would keep him in a body until 2025.

However, Mcguire left the club near the end of the 2023 season, when Peters started building its training unit.

“It was difficult because I was really enjoying it and I think I was part of this long -term process that the club spoke about.”

“Once again, I saw myself on this trip. We were improving, we changed the environment, and we had some of the best players. Tony Smith came and started seeing some improvement in the challenge cup semi -finals.

“The club was improving, more care. I felt I was a decent influence on it. I played my role in this.

“I loved, I really enjoyed the year with Will. I really enjoyed it. That year, I learned more than 10 years at the end of my career.

“The early part of the training, only the ethics of his work and the way he went to matters and his passion, his commitment, his details. So it was a wonderful year. His aides are working hard, he demands.

“There were some things that happened, as you know, just differences in opinions about things that occur, as I think, in training, life and sports. I felt, as you know, was fine. We worked together for the rest of the year.

“It was the last minute. Yes, that was before the qualifying match against me. I think it could have been a little better.

“But again, I understand and I’m wonderful. How was that?

“It was difficult, but this sport and I think, as you know, happen, right?”
