Cristiano Ronaldo and Jose Mourinho are among those who praised the captain of the Costa League champions, who died at the age of 53 after suffering a heart attack on the training land of the Portuguese club.

Costa, who led Porto to the glory of the European Football Association Cup in 2003 and the Champions League victory a year after the leadership of Mourinho, was in his second season as the football manager in the Portuguese League. He was taken to the hospital but cannot be saved.

The defender won 50 capsules for the national team of Portugal and collected more than 500 professional matches, the majority that plays with Porto.

Ronaldo praised his compatriot on social media, as he posted a picture of Costa with the line “I ate Semper Jorge Costa”, which translates as “forever” or “always”.

“I am very sad. It is part of my history,” Fenerbahce Courinho, who resisted tears at a press conference before the third round of the Champions League against Feyenoord presented on Wednesday.

“If he can talk to me now, he will say,” Is your press conference, tomorrow, Mister and winning the game – forget me. “

“I will try to do my job today and tomorrow, and after that I will cry after that.”

Costa won 24 awards in his time in Porto, including eight Liga Primeira titles. He was one of six players winning five consecutive championships in the Portuguese League.

He had a short talisman in England with Charlton Sports, where he participated 26 games after arriving on loan during the 2001/2002 season.

“Throughout his life, inside and outside the stadium, Jorge Costa embodied the values that define FC Porto: dedication, leadership, emotion and the unprepared spirit of conquest,” Porto said in a statement. “He left his fingerprints on generations of fans and became a symbol of Portismo.”

“The legacy of Jorge Costa will always be alive on the memory of all Porto fans. You will never forget, the captain.”

The two former players in Porto, Portugal, Deco and Baby also praised the player.

Deco called Costa, one of the “greatest symbols” of Portuguese football, adding: “The honor of honor had to share many titles and joys with you. Your name will be remembered forever. My condolences for the entire family.”

Meanwhile, Bibi said: “Your dedication and heritage will always live in the history of Vixus Porto’s victories.
