Columbia University, one of the best educational institutions in the United States, agreed to pay $ 221 million to settle the claims of US President Donald Trump’s administration that it failed to anti -Semitism on the campus.
According to the agreement announced on Wednesday, Colombia will witness the “vast majority” of $ 400 million in federal scholarships that were frozen by the Trump administration, the New York -based university said.
The university said that Colombia will re -reach billions of dollars in current and future grants under the deal.
Colombia said the official agreement announced in March to address harassment against Jews, including employing more public safety employees, changes to disciplinary operations, and efforts to enhance a “comprehensive and respectable educational environment.”
The Convention is also committed to Colombia to maintain a merit -based acceptance and programs to end programs that enhance “illegal efforts to achieve sweat -based results, and the goals of diversity (and) diversity.”
Under the agreement, Colombia will pay the federal government $ 200 million over a period of three years, in addition to a $ 21 million batch to settle claims by the Equal Employment Committee.

Chipman said that Colombia did not accept the results of the Trump administration that it had violated the Civil Rights Law by caring for the celebration of the Jews, but it recognized “the serious and painful challenges that our organization faced with anti -Semitism.”
She said, “We know that there is still a lot to do.”
