While the Indians are drowned of medium layer in debt, says Rathika Gupta, CEO of Edelweiss AMC MD and CEO, says the shift from “low financial lever” to heavy lifestyle is a clear-special warning sign when loans on funding are desire, not needs.

Speaking to podcasts with Rahul Jain, Gobta emptied the sharp height of home debt burdens.

“India used to be a country where domestic influence was very low. Anxiety is – we picked the other side,” said Gupta.

She pointed to an increase in access to credit throughout the country, noting clear signs such as excessive credit card halls at airports and aggressive cards promotions. “Everyone has credit cards or three credit cards,” she added.

Gupta was distinguished between “good debt” and “non -existent”. It considers borrowing for education, home, or tools related to work as fruitful debt and asset building. “I studied on an educational loan. This is not bad debt,” she said, adding that the current home loan rates in India – between 7 % and 12 % – make them a relatively effective financing option.

She warned that the red flag is the debts used to finance lifestyle. She said: “If you use debts to buy diamonds or go to the Coldplay party, this is the place where the problem begins,” spending as “revenue expenses” in exchange for investing the capital.

She acknowledged that the attitudes towards debt turn – especially between the middle class – and urged consumers to look at the debt as a financial tool, and not a symbol of the status or an abbreviation to supply luxuries.

She said, “It is not a matter of debt. It is related to the debt management that does not turn to pressure.” “When EMI becomes a strain, it is no longer built – broken.”
