China’s consumer inflation is near zero even after stimulus, and demand continues to be weak

China’s consumer price inflation fell further, to near zero, with a rise of 0.1% year-on-year in December, compared to 0.2% in the previous month, which was in line with market estimates and represented the lowest reading since March.

On a monthly basis, the CPI remained unchanged, followed by a 0.6% decline in November
