CES 2025: New laptops and gaming PCs from Asus, Dell, Lenovo and HP – video

CNET got an early look at some of the biggest PC product announcements at CES 2025 in Las Vegas.

CES is here, and Dell, Lenovo, Asus, and HP all made announcements at the Big Electronics Show in Las Vegas, but before the show we got some sneak peeks in New York of their laptops and desktops coming in 2025, which includes the brands For their games. So let’s take a look at what’s next from them. Before I dive in, keep in mind that we saw all of this before CES even started, so there’s a good chance that PC makers and others will have announcements at the show that we didn’t see. Also, none of these looks were in-depth and pricing and availability weren’t specific, but we wanted to give you an overview of what’s coming this year. So I’ll start things off with Dell, oddly enough their biggest announcement isn’t a product but a name change. Dell is ditching its PC font names. XPS Insperon, Latitude, and Precision are all simple, straightforward names like Dell for consumer models, Dell Pro for business productivity, and Dell Pro Max for high-performance business systems and workstations. Among these models there are redundant and premium models. For example, if you’re familiar with Dell’s high-end XPS line, a 14-inch laptop in that line will now be called the Dell 14 Premium. You can extrapolate. From there, Dell has announced some new Pro and Pro Max business laptops and a couple of updated Insperons now simply called Dell or Dell Plus, and these will be debuting over the next few months. On the Alienware side, this is a bit more exciting. It’s also changing the name of its PC, returning to the Area 51 brand with a new full-sized tower with the latest Nvidia graphics and up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 285 KCPU and 16- and 18-inch laptops, and once again these will have the latest Nvidia graphics and up to Intel Core Ultra 9 275 HX CPU. Look for it to launch sometime in the first quarter. Moving on to Lenovo, most of its PC announcements are over-the-air updates. For example, Lenovo’s dual-screen laptop, the Yoga Book 9 I, now has a larger 14-inch OLED display (up from 13.3 inches), a sturdier support stand, and the latest Intel Core Ultra 7 processor. The Yoga 9 I gets 2 and 1 premium Also getting a processor update is an Aura version, which basically means it’s AIPC and has some smarter software and access to premium support. Then there’s the new Yoga Slim 9 I, a 14-inch premium laptop with a dazzling new glass finish on the lid and like the other two. Latest Ultra Core chipset. Lenovo also announced 4 new tablets starting with the 10-inch general purpose Lenovo Tab. Then there’s the 12.7-inch Idea Tab Pro, which brings you an even more premium entertainment and productivity experience, alongside the more innovative 12.7-inch Yoga Tab Plus. Rounding out the tablets is the Legion Tab, an 8.8-inch tablet with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, 12GB of memory and 256GB of storage, all built around an 8.8-inch 2.5K display with a 165Hz refresh rate . There’s also a new Legion gaming laptop, the Legion Pro 7i, a 16-inch display with an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor, NextGen Nvidia graphics, and some nice lighting around the rear vents on the front. Next up is HP and some new AI-enabled PCs for both consumers and. We’ll only focus on consumer-level PCs in this video like the HP Omni Studio HP has made some great features in the past, and this OmniStudio It’s available in 27- and 31.5-inch sizes, and has superior Intel Core processors, up to 32GB of memory, and Intel Art graphics. The new versatile office towers feature a beautiful wood-like finish on the front, so they look more like furniture and offer plenty of configuration options including discrete graphics and video graphics. For gaming, there is the new Oman Max 16 laptop which has an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 375 processor or an Intel Core Ultra 9275 HX processor. NextGen video graphics, 64GB memory, and 2TB storage. There are 3 display options including 2.5K OLED with a variable refresh rate from 48 to 240Hz. HP also showcased a 16L compact gaming tower in Oman equipped with Intel or AMD CPUs and GPUs up to AMD Radeon RX 7600 or higher. Nvidia RTX 4060 Ti. Finally, let’s take a look at what Os brought to the table. Mostly it was a wide range of Vivo books in a wide range of configurations with Intel, AMD and Qualcomm processors in 14- and 16-inch sizes and a combination of plastic or plastic and metal. Bodies. What’s available will vary by region, but if you’re looking for a mid-range AIPC from ASU, you’ll have plenty of options this year.
