CBDT Central Action Plan for FY26 Reduction levels at Cit (CIT)

The Ministry of Income Tax is looking to reduce the levels of the suffering of mammoths in the current fiscal year with the aim of getting rid of 200,000 CIT (Appeal) levels, which are estimated at 10 rupees of the disputed amount.

This must include mandatory disposal of the best 1500 calls in terms of disputed demand, and the Convention on Biological Diversity has confirmed, adding that focused efforts must be made to reduce a large number of appeals that involve disputed amounts in the old appeal.

This is one of the main procedures points in the central lawsuit plan for the Central Council for Direct Taxes for the period 2025-25. The central business plan determines the main strategies followed by the field offices for the Income Tax Management Department in a specific financial year to verify tax evasion, expand the tax base and meet the goal of collecting taxes.

For the 26th fiscal year, the government set a target of 25.2 rupees of direct taxes, which includes 10.82 rupees of corporate tax and 13.6 rupees of non -encouraging taxes.

The number of suspended appeals decreased to 5.38 koh on April 1, 2025, from 549,000 a year ago. CBDT has also highlighted that the record is 172,000 cases. 6.22 Crore Carar Lakh was eliminated during the 24-25 fiscal year by Cit (A), compared to 162,000 new appeals.

Experts welcomed the concentration of the Convention on Biological Diversity on Reducing Borders. Amit Mahshwari, Tar partner, Akm Global, noted that this plan is faster than conflicts and increased transparency.

“It reflects the government’s commitment to alleviate the burden on the honest taxpayers and simplify the tax management system. It can be attributed to a lot of resumption faster to enter the parallel authority of the Joint Income Tax Commissioner (Appeals),” he said.

However, CBDT cited a CIT (A) workforce deficiency in the action plan, and therefore, field officers need to properly ensure and dispose of appeals efficiently. “

As part of its strategy to strengthen tax groups in this fiscal year, the Convention on Biological Diversity also requested that officials closely monitor taxpayers and determine the claims of exemptions and discounts.
