Lando Norris admitted that he had committed “a lot of mistakes” after his rehabilitation in the seventh place in the Canadian Grand Prix, four places behind his teammate Oscar Baysri.
NORRIS will start on Sunday’s race from the second most penalty kick for this season, not for the first time this year, a promising start for rehabilitation, giving way to costly errors when it was more important in the third quarter.
The British destroyed his first attempt in the latter in the last stage by running directly in the final Chican, before hitting the seventh wall in his last race.
“Not perfect,” Norris, who tracked Pasri, admitted 10 points in the World Championship Sky SPORTS F1.
“Just many mistakes. I hit the wall in the last lap.
“I had confidence, I felt satisfied today, I made a lot of mistakes.”
Although Circuit Gilles Villeneuve is a path that can be overcome with a faster car, Norris admits that the championship leaders do not have their usual interest about the right track on the wall.
He said: “He previously asked about the McLaren race:” He looked good, but it was not as good like Max (Verstapen, who begins in the front row).
“It is clear that we do not have our interest on this path compared to Normal, as it is more than a path where you only need a very good riding and the ability to take chores, bumps and very low grip.
“It is still good, the car was fast. The average tire may have been slightly faster at the end of the qualifiers. I think our pace is good enough, I go back a little again.”
PIASSTRI feature – McLaren is ready to “reduce damage”
It is frustrated for Nores, Q3 is the only session so far this week when PiaSSTRI was outperformed.
The Australian was the person who makes more mistakes around him in the Gilles Villeneuve
In fact, Baystiri admitted that the three training sessions were “very miserable”. Looking at this preparation, PiaSSTRI – who chose to run the old McLaren ranking of the front end with his teammate on the new on the new – was satisfied with qualifying at the end of the sharp network.
“After the practice went, I am very happy with myself,” he said.
“It was always the question, do we want the means or soft for the third quarter?
“I am very happy with the third that is somewhat different this year, but I will definitely take it.”
PiaSSTRI begins a position that allows it to increase its progress on Norris, although the chances of achieving the sixth victory for this season seem less clear than third place.
When asked if he could take the duo in the front row of Sice and Versaben, Pasri replied: “I think so. Once again, Friday was not great in any round, but I definitely feel more comfortable than I did this morning and then yesterday.
“Our pace on the days of the race is in general where we are strong. These two were next to me were very fast in the race that runs yesterday, so that will definitely not be a without you in the four championships, but I think we are definitely in the fighting.”
McLaren was only twice in the Grand Prix in the first season of the season – by Red Bulls Versaben in Suzuka and Emola – but Sunday is the first time they will start without a car in the front row.
The team manager Andrea Stella said Sky SPORTS F1: “The image is completely changing for the race, and this is what we should focus on.
“I think it is in terms of the frequency of the race, we must be a little comfortable, but let’s see.
“This weekend can be one of reducing damage.”
