In the event of a massive fire, The Red Cross appeals to residents Have an evacuation plan that includes multiple escape routes from their home and community. They should also be equipped with a large number of emergency items, including masks and baby food, for their “first kit.”
The Red Cross told FOX Business that hundreds of residents are already seeking safe shelter in evacuation centers across the Los Angeles County area, as at least four fires are burning in the area.
More than 30,000 residents are subject to evacuation orders.

Once they receive an official order to evacuate, they must “comply with orders from local authorities and follow instructions,” according to the Red Cross. However, even if residents do not receive an order, they should leave if they feel threatened or unsafe, according to the organization.

The Red Cross said residents in affected areas should return their cars to the garage or park them outside toward the evacuation route.
What you need to bring with your “toolkit” according to the Red Cross:
Your “kit” should be three days’ worth of supplies that you can easily carry with you, while your stay-at-home kit should be two weeks’ worth of supplies.
- An emergency kit should be in the car. If there is time, residents should replenish items that are in short supply, especially medicines or medical supplies
- One month’s supply of medication in a child-resistant container
- Mask and hand sanitizer
- Baby items, such as food, formula, diapers, extra clothes, and toys
- Items for pets, including leash, Pet medications And pet food
- Personal hygiene items, pillows, blankets, towels, changes of clothes or other items you may want to have at the shelter
- Cell phone charger or external battery packs.
