The European Commission gave the green light of Bulgaria to adopt the euro on January 1, 2026, putting the country in the path to become the twenty -first member of the unified currency area. Brussels says Bulgaria has now achieved all the criteria necessary to join the euro area, including price stability and financial discipline. However, the Bulgarians and many of them are divided outside Parliament.
