The new director of Brazil Carlo Ancelotti began a disappointing start as Brazil coach with a draw in the World Cup qualifications against Ecuador.
Ancelotti, 65, left Real Madrid to take over the winners of five times in the World Cup last month.
But his new side was unable to break Ecuador, with his best chance in Venice Junior, who was saved by goalkeeper Gonzalo Valley.
The Ancelotti team created more opportunities late but failed to benefit, as Richarlyson passed a good pass from Vinicius Junior in the box and strong long -term shots of Casemiro that are rescued by Valle.
“Of course, we always have to improve, but little by little we improve,” said Casemiro after the match.

“It has passed only two or three days with a new coach. Dynamics are good, the weather is good. I’m very happy to return. The atmosphere is excellent.”
“Ancelotti has not had time to clarify his game plan so far. Just two or three days of training has passed,” Veniceus added.
Brazil remains fourth with 22 points, with the first six teams to the World Cup next year in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
Brazil Peru is ninth on Tuesday.
Ecuador is ranked second with 24 points, and 10 points behind the leaders and holders of the Argentina World Cup.
The playmaker in Miami Lionel Messi was a substitute in the second half, as the team strengthened its place at the top of the qualifiers.
