On multiple occasions, the demonstrators sitting on the ground who were trying to prevent ice vehicles from carrying the detainees to the facility were repelled by armed ice agents with weapons using physical force, chemical ammunition and rubber bullets, raising combat scenes.
The demonstrators have criticized what they call the heavy police in other democracy -run cities, including New York, Los Angeles, Washington, DC, and Portland.
Trump deployed the National Guard in Los Angeles during the summer and as part of the seizure of law enforcement in Washington, DC. Meanwhile, the National Guard forces in Tennessee are expected to help the Memphis police.
