On Tuesday, Baldoni released footage from his film with Lively, showing interactions between the actors, which his legal team claims challenges the sexual harassment allegations Lively made on December 20 against her co-star and director.

However, in a lengthy statement, Lively’s lawyers praised the video’s release, insisting that it proves the allegations made in the actress’ lawsuit.

They said TMZ: “Justin Baldoni and his attorney may hope that this latest stunt will outweigh the damaging evidence against him, but the video itself is damning. Every frame of the footage released confirms, verbatim, what Ms. Lively described in Paragraph 48 of her complaint.”

“The video shows Mr. Baldoni repeatedly leaning toward Ms. Lively, trying to kiss her, kissing her forehead, rubbing his face and mouth on her neck, brushing her lip with his thumb, caressing her, telling her how good she smelled, and speaking to her in a manner inconsistent with her nature,” the lawyers continued. Blake Lively’s lawyers say the video resonates with women who experience harassment in the workplace by their bosses.

In their statement, Lively’s lawyers claimed that Baldoni “improvised” the scene and made the actress uncomfortable, as there were no prior discussions.

They also pointed out that although Lively and Baldoni were co-stars, the actress also served as a director and “employer,” suggesting a power imbalance.

“Every moment of this was improvised by Mr. Baldoni without any prior discussion or approval, and without the presence of an intimacy coordinator,” the lawyers said. “Mr. Baldoni was not only Ms. Lively’s co-star, he was also the director and head of the studio. And Ms. Lively’s boss.”

According to the legal team, the actress leaning away from Baldoni in the scene was not an act, as she apparently felt “disturbed” after being touched without consent.

“The video shows Ms. Lively leaning away and repeatedly telling the characters to just talk,” Lively’s lawyers continued. “Any woman who has been touched inappropriately in the workplace will recognize Ms. Lively’s discomfort. She will recognize her permissive attempts to try to deflect unwanted touching. No woman should take defensive measures to avoid being touched by her employer without her employer’s consent.” “
