Bengaluru man drives a taxi at 3 am after sleepy driver hands him keys, video goes viral

Milind Chandwani, an IIM alumnus and founder of Camp Diaries Bengaluru, witnessed an unexpected adventure late at night during a taxi ride.

In a video shared on Instagram, Chandwani narrated how a routine 3am ride took an unusual turn when his sleepy driver was struggling to stay awake, prompting him to take the wheel and drive the taxi himself.

In his post, Chandwani recounted the unusual but reflective experience: “Last night at 3am while returning from Bengaluru airport, I found myself in an unexpected role: my taxi driver. He was so sleepy, he even stopped for tea and a cigarette, but He still couldn’t keep his eyes open so, I offered to drive, and to my surprise, he handed me the keys faster than I could say ‘Bengaluru traffic’.

The video accompanying the post shows the original taxi driver asleep in the passenger seat, while Chandwani drives the car through the streets of Bengaluru with the help of Google Maps.

Reflecting on this unusual experience, Chandwani expressed a mixture of emotions: “I felt a mixture of emotions: happy that he trusted me, sad that he had to put in so much effort, and a little amused at the speed with which he decided that I was qualified for the World Cup.” job.
