Marvel star Benedict Cumberbatch He shared details about his character Doctor Strange appearing in the upcoming film Avengers: Doomsday.
Cumberbatch was initially scheduled to be part of the fifth “Avengers” film, but that will no longer be the case due to a change in plans.
“Avengers: Doomsday” will see Robert Downey Jr. return to the franchise as the villain Doomsday, after playing Iron Man/Tony Stark for many years.

Cumberbatch recently gave an interview to diverseSundance cover and shared details about his Marvel character, Doctor Strange, who will appear in the upcoming “Avengers” film.
The 48-year-old actor revealed that the Guardian of the Time Stone will not appear in the “Avengers” movie Doomsday.
Realizing he had just shared the film’s secret, Cumberbatch exclaimed: “Is this a spoiler? Fuck it!” However, he did go on to explain why Doctor Strange won’t appear in the next “Avengers” movie.
According to Cumberbatch, plans for the film changed after Jonathan Major was fired following his conviction for assaulting his ex-girlfriend.
Majors’ character, Kang, was supposed to be the main antagonist of the next installment of the “Avengers” movie, but the series went in a different direction after his legal troubles.

Cumberbatch shared that Doctor Strange’s absence from Doomsday was due to “the character not fitting into that part of the story.”

Despite Doctor Strange’s absence from the Doomsday movie, Cumberbatch made fans understand that they would see more of his character in the future.
He noted that Doctor Strange is a “huge part” of the sixth part of the “Avengers: Secret Wars” series, scheduled for release in 2027.
“He’s central to where things can go,” Cumberbatch said of his character. He also hinted that there will be a third “Doctor Strange” movie, but he didn’t share many details about it.
However, the actor praised Marvel for being collaborative, saying: “They’re very open to discussing where we go next. Who do you want to write and direct the next one? What part of the comic do you want to explore so that Strange can continue to evolve?” ?
