Barcelona icon Carrasco disappointed in the failed pursuit of Lillams, but supports Blograna to sign Diaz

Barcelona icon Francisco Jose Carrasco was not afraid of his disappointment because the club failed to secure the signature of Niko Williams this summer.

The former pavilion, which spent more than a decade in the Nou camp and won 10 main titles, believes that the sports club star would have been an ideal addition to Hansi Felk – but Louis Diaz recognized Liverpool could be a strong alternative.

Speaking after a visit to the MD campus, where he participated in training sessions with young players and offered instructions based on his own experiences, Carrasco was reflected on the window of Barcelona and a lost opportunity to bring Williams.

He described international Spain as a “visual attraction” for the young masses, similar to his popularity with a feeling of adolescence by Lamal Yamal.

“I walk on the street and see Barcelona shirts bearing the name of Lamine on its back everywhere, even in Madrid,” said Carrasco.

Carrasco was disappointed, especially because Williams’s move fell, and revealed that he participated in the viewpoint of director Hansi Felk that the wing was an ideal goal.

I suggested that the collapse in the negotiations was due to the complications of the agents and contractual items instead of lacking effort from the club.

“The negotiation was not successful. Sometimes there are loose ends … and in the end, I fell. I agreed strongly with the shake to come.”

From a tactical point of view, Carrasco believed that Williams had softened the pressure on Yamal, who is currently occupying the axis of opposition defenses, just as Lionel Messi was one day.

He also asked about the suitability of Raphinha as the smooth left wing, indicating that Williams style and its natural width would have helped open more space for Yamal.

“For good pedestrians, Niko was a pivotal point for the opponent, which would liberate Lamine,” Carrasco explained.

Despite his preference over Williams, Carrasco also praised Louis Diaz as a quality player who can still add great value to the team.

However, I acknowledged that the Colombian is likely to come at a higher cost. “He is also a great player,” said Carrasco. “But I was the best Niko among those who were put up as possible signatures.”

As for Marcus Rashford of Manchester United – another name associated with the Catalan club – Carrasco was less convinced.

While admitting Rashford’s higher proportions and previous offers, he raised doubts about his ability to adapt to the demands of play as a disciplined left winger in the Barcelona system.

“It is more challenging,” said Carrasco. “I don’t see him ready to do in this situation like Louis Diaz. I have no doubt about the Colombian.”
